Biography and History |
Members of the Perine family are reportedly descended from Daniel "The Huguenot" Perine who was born on the Isle of Jersey, France ca. 1642 and eventually settled on Staten Island. In 1758 Edward Perine married Ann Holmes, whose parents owned the building later known as the Billiou-Stillwell-Perine House. This collection also contains materials associated with other Perine family members, other residents of the Billiou-Stillwell-Perine House, and other associated people. Some of the documents are transcribed in the book by Charles Gilbert Hine, "Story and Documentary History of the Perine House," first published in 1915. |
