This document is Ann Perine's Loyalist Memorial to the "Honorable William Pitt, Minister of the Court of Great Brittain [Britain]." The document refers to the "unhappy contest between this and the Mother Country" and her "faithful performance of her duty to the Crown of Great Brittain." It asks for a response to her request for compensation for cutting woodland for "Works made on the Heights at the Narrows for defense of this Island, during the late War." Biography and History |
The Billiou-Stillwell-Perine House, built ca. 1663, is the oldest house on Staten Island. It stands at 1476 Richmond Road in Dongan Hills, and is owned by the Staten Island Historical Society, Historic Richmond Town. |
