Ownership and History |
This is part of a group of items associated with the First Holy Communion of Gianna Marie Galizia of Staten Island, presented to the Staten Island Historical Society by Gianna's grandmother. Gianna was born in 2001 at St. Vincent's Hospital, Staten Island. Her First Holy Communion took place at the Roman Catholic Church of the Holy Child in Eltingville, Staten Island on May 9, 2009. A celebration was held that same day at the Excelsior Grand on Hylan Boulevard. The veil was acquired from Holy Child parish, in order that all the girls taking part in the ceremony would have matching veils. |
