Greeting card (holiday postcard). Color-printed and embossed illustration of red flowers, with patterned gold band above and printed inscription below in gold lettering, "A / Joyful / Christmas". Reverse side is addressed to "Miss Alice Austen, / Rosebank, / Staten Island, / N.Y." and has handwritten note, "Merry Xmas and a / Happy New Year from Alma, Betty & Oswald. / 231 S. San Pedro St., Los Angeles, Cal." Reverse also has printed headings. Postmarked in Los Angeles, California, Dec. 20, 1911. Postage stamp value is one cent.
