Description |
Infant's dress. Sheer ivory cotton, round neckline with lace collar, short puffy sleeves with lace trim, triangular lace insertion in bodice front, back closure with 3 buttons and ties at neck, vertical tucks on back of bodice. Long skirt is cartridge pleated into waist. Front of skirt has very finely detailed vertical insertions of embroidery and needle lace, alternating with insertions of lace and gathered cotton triangles. Two horizontal puffed bands near hem have an insertion of embroidery and needle lace in between. This is an example of an elaborate and finely made infant's dress.
