Ownership and History |
This leather pocket was imprinted for use as a business novelty or souvenir. The inscription connects it to Staten Island businessman William Horrmann (1863-1927), who may have operated the Staten Island Brewery for a brief period in the late 1880s or early 1890s before joining his father's firm, Rubsam and Horrmann Brewing Company, at their Atlantic Brewery. For more information, see the book "Staten Island's Brewery Barons" by Patricia M. Salmon. |
