This badge belonged to postmaster Willett Leslie Conner (1877-1932), of Richmond, Staten Island. In addition to serving as postmaster, Mr. Conner worked for some years as a telegrapher, and later had a real estate business. He and his family lived in the structure now known as the Stephens-Black House at Historic Richmond Town. His wife, Bertha (Manee) Conner (1879-1966) took over as postmistress after her husband's death, serving until 1941. |
