Description |
Souvenir cap of the Staten Island Yankees minor league baseball team, from their 1999 debut season. Navy blue wool or wool blend with self-fabric button at top; bill is stiffened with plastic; plastic band in back allows for adjusting the size. Embroidered logo on front of cap: "Yankees / Staten Island" in front of a baseball bat and a red, white, and blue Uncle Sam hat. The back of the cap has the embroidered red white and blue logo of Minor League Baseball, with a baseball batter and four stars. Two fabric labels inside cap: "SINCE 1920 / NEW ERA / MADE IN USA / ONE SIZE FITS ALL" and "PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL / THE MINOR LEAGUES / TM." The New Era Cap Company, established in Buffalo, N.Y, in 1920, produced their first professional baseball caps for the Cleveland Indians in 1934. The Staten Island Yankees, a minor league baseball team, played their inaugural season in 1999 with the College of Staten Island campus as their home. After two seasons at CSI, they moved to a brand new facility in St. George, known as the Richmond County Bank Ballpark. |
