Tompkins, George W. Curtis, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Edwin Markham, Peter Stuyvesant, Benjamin Franklin, and Giovanni da Verrazzano. Ten Native American men stand and sit in the foreground. An American flag flies in the center of the image, above an illustration of a seal with inscription "RICHMOND / N. YORK / COUNTY." The painting is signed lower right: "Philip Rice - 34." Not framed.
