Description |
Small booklet, 40 pages. Front cover has a chromolithographed illustration of a woman smelling a flower. Printed inscription: "VOL. IV. / BURNETTS' / FLORAL HAND-BOOK / LADIES' CALENDAR / JB&CO / E. ACKERMANN / JOSEPH BURNETT & CO." In tiny print at the bottom: "Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1872 by / JOSEPH BURNETT & CO. / in the Office of the Librarian of Congress at Washington." Printed inside the front cover is a statement about the booklet and the company's products by Joseph Burnett, dated January 1874. Other pages include ads for Burnett's Cocoaine (a hair product); a calendar for 1875; several pages of The Language of Flowers; and ads and testimonials for the company's other products. |
