Small printed booklet, 16 pages. Printed on the title page: "MEN'S LEAGUE / FOR / WOMAN SUFFRAGE / OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK / 1912 / Executive Secretary / 11 Broadway, New York City". The booklet contains a list of officers, a summary of the organization's contributions to the suffrage movement, and a list of members by county. Two members are listed for Richmond County, on page 14: Hon. Lester W. Clark, New Brighton, and Edwin Markham, Westerleigh. The organization's constitution is printed on the last page. Women in New York achieved state voting rights in 1917. In 1920, the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution guaranteed all American women the right to vote. |
