Description |
This document is an invoice from the general store of Stephen D. Stephens in Richmond, Staten Island. It is handwritten on off-white paper. Inscription at the top of the page: "Abraham Cole. / Bought of S.D. Stephens." The page has a list of items purchased from July through August 1857, and it also includes credits. Items purchased include sugar crackers, sugar, coffee, tea, camphor, alcohol, senna, cotton batts, thread, 4 sheets wadding, tobacco, molasses, screws, suspenders, needles, pitcher, skeins of silk, and matches. Credits include amounts for shad and eggs. The final balance is $0.12, due to Mr. Cole. Inscription at the bottom of the page: "The above acct settled this the 2 of Sept 1857 / S.D. Stephens."
