Original B&W print. Front view of Brower's Hardware Store on Amboy Road in Great Kills, Staten Island. It's a brick building with two large display windows on the ground floor and a window with a fanlight on the second floor. A vertical sign "BROWER'S INC." is mounted outside the second-floor window. Signs above the first-floor windows: "HARDWARE / TOOLS / HOUSE FURNISHINGS." A handwritten inscription on the reverse of the photo dates this 1959. (Keywords: New York City, Twentieth Century) |
