Original glass plate negative. View of three rowboats full of young sailors at a dock in Annapolis, Maryland. The sailors hold their oars straight up in the air. The photographer's initials "E.A.A." are inscribed in the lower right corner of the negative. The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription: "Stanley / 50 / 775 / Naval cadets in boats oars up / Fine sunny day / W.L. / Inst fast / 3.15 PM / 60 ft / Tuesday Sept 25th / 1894 / Annapolis." |
