Ownership and History |
This view has been identified as the James Purvis House, which was located on Jewett Avenue at the foot of Kingsley Avenue in Westerleigh, Staten Island. The house reportedly collapsed a few years after the photo was taken. The 1920 U.S. census shows brothers James and Thomas Purvis residing together with Elizabeth Purvis at 606 Jewett Avenue. |
