Ownership and History |
Staten Island’s Midland Beach and South Beach were popular resort areas well into the twentieth century, rivaling the more famous Coney Island. The Staten Island beaches drew crowds of working- and middle-class vacationers, many of whom rented bungalows just off the beach. |
