Original B&W postcard. View of a pond with a house and several smaller buildings on the far side at right, and a hill at left; grass and flowers are seen in the foreground. Printed inscription in the lower margin below the image: "A Scene on Todt Hill, West New Brighton, S.I." Handwritten personal message in right and left margins: "May [4 is crossed out] 5 It is simply grand / just ideal here today. / the leaves are coming / out fast and the grass / is so green and nice." Postcard has an undivided back with postmark: "WEST NEW BRIGHTON / N.Y. / MAY 5 / 7-PM / 1907." (Keywords: New York City, Early Twentieth Century) |
