Original B&W print with fabric backing and a paper tab at left (appears to have been part of an album). Front view of a two-story building with a porch, on the boardwalk at South Beach, Staten Island; the beach is in the foreground. Sign on the building: "GILLIES' PLEASANT VIEW." Sign on the porch: "JOHN D. GILLIES." At left is the entrance to a bath house. The Eureka Hotel is at right. There are no people present in the image. An identical photo is dated 1912.
