Original B&W print. Alice Austen sits on a wooden fence post; she holds a camera up to her face and looks toward the left side of the photo. Next to her are Guy Loomis and Gertrude Tate, standing next to a parked car. Guy is reading a piece of paper, and Gertrude looks toward the photographer. A small crowd of men are visible in the background, standing against the fence. At left is a road with wire fence along each side. Identified by a previous cataloger as Alice Austen photographing an automobile race on Southfield Boulevard, Staten Island. (Keywords: New York City, Early Twentieth Century) |
