Original B&W print on off-white cardboard mount. View of a small Gothic Style building on the grounds of the Anson Phelps Stokes house "Bay Villa" in New Brighton, Staten Island. The building is surrounded by trees and shrubbery, and the front is decorated with garlands. The purpose of the building is not known (perhaps a caretaker's residence). Printed inscription on the front of the mount along the right edge of the photograph: "ALMSTAEDT, PHOTO. TOMPKINSVILLE, S.I." Printed inscription on the reverse of the mount: "ALMSTAEDT / PORTRAIT & LANDSCAPE / PHOTOGRAPHER / TOMPKINSVILLE, S.I. / PUBLISHER OF PHOTOGRAPHS OF / Staten Island Scenery." (Keywords: New York) |
