Original glass plate negative. Diagonal front and side view of the home of Peter and Nellie Austen, the photographer's aunt and uncle, on Union Street in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The street is unpaved. The photographer's initials are inscribed in the lower left corner of the negative: "E.A.A." The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription: "A&R / 40 / 266 / Uncle Pete's house from across street / Fair day / W.L. 3.30 P.M / 60 ft / Inst / Monday March 7th 1892 / New Brunswick." |
