Original glass plate negative. Profile view of a policeman in uniform on horseback in Central Park, Manhattan. The uniform jacket has decorative braiding on the breast and sleeve. Inscription on the horse's saddle blanket: "DPP." The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription: "No 1017 & 1018 / Cramer / C / Obelisk Central Park / 60 ft 3.30 PM / Inst / 1078 Mounted policeman / W.L. / 50 ft 3.50 PM / Thursday Oct 1st / 1896 / N.Y."
