Original B&W postcard. View of Nelson Avenue in Great Kills, Staten Island. There is a house at right, with other houses in the distance. Printed caption at the top of the image: "NELSON AVE., GREAT KILLS, S.I." The postcard has a divided back (introduced in 1907). Printed inscriptions on the reverse include publisher information: "AA 6084 Pub. Ernst A Schnakenberg, Great Kills, N.Y. / Made in Germany." Printed logo at top left: "STEELDRUCKTONE / [shamrock shape in a partial circle with one letter in each leaf:] A N C / N Y / LEIPZIG DRESDEN / BERLIN." Location was identified by a previous cataloger as the Henry B. Metcalfe house on the southeast corner of Nelson Avenue and Amboy Road. (Keywords: New York City, Early Twentieth Century) |
