Description |
Original glass plate negative. A young newsgirl and newsboy stand on the sidewalk in front of City Hall in Manhattan; both look directly toward the camera. They each hold a stack of newspapers under their arms, and the girl holds a copy of "The World" newspaper in her right hand. The price of "ONE CENT" is visible at the top of the paper. The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription: "900 / Cramer / C / Newsboy & girl / City Hall / Park / Fair day sun / W.L. 12 ft 12.55 P.M / Inst fast / Monday April 13th / 1896 / NY -".
