Description |
Original B&W postcard. Front view of the Engine 159 firehouse in Dongan Hills, Staten Island. The two-story firehouse has a square tower at left and two pairs of open double doors on the ground floor; a flagpole with an American flag is mounted above the doors. Two fire engines stand in front, each in front of one of the pairs of doors. Two firemen are seated in the front of each vehicle, with at least four more standing nearby; all are in uniform. Two women stand at far right, near a fire hydrant. Printed caption at upper right: "Engine No. 159, H. & L. No. 81, N. Y. Fire Dept. / Dongan Hills, Staten Island, N.Y."
