Original B&W print. View of a row of dilapidated two- and three-story buildings on Canal Street in Stapleton, Staten Island, as seen from across an empty lot with scattered debris. The view of the buildings is partially blocked by wooden fences. The building at left has a sign: "Miller's." At far left is an elevated railroad. In the foreground is a street paved with bricks. Handwritten inscription on the reverse of the photo: "14 & 16 Canal St. / U.B. 7 & 8/38 / 3/20/39."
