Original glass plate negative. Nellie (Munroe) Austen and Alfred Munroe are seated in a rowboat on the Assabet River in Concord, Massachusetts, surrounded by trees in bloom; Mr. Munroe holds a parasol. The scenery is reflected in the still surface of the water. The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription: "Stanley / 35 / 295 / Mr Munroe & Nellie / in boat on Assabet riv[er] / Fine day, shady / 10 a.m / 50 ft / W.L. / Monday June 13th / 189[2] / Concord." |
