For many years, Elizabeth Anna Britton (1835-1912) operated her own business at Clove Lake, producing and selling ice. Britton on the Clove Road, containing all the latest and most improved modern appliances, including steam-hoisting apparatus, is one of the finest and largest buildings of the kind in the County, and was built for the purpose of meeting the requirements of the constantly increasing business of this enterprising firm." |
