Description |
Original glass plate negative. View of men and women on a street surrounded by neoclassical buildings at the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago, Illinois. Many of the women carry parasols. There is a tent in the middle distance at right, and a large domed building at the end of the street. The photographer's initials are inscribed in the lower left corner of the negative: "COPYRIGHT 1893 E.A.A." The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription: "Stanley / 35 / 589 / Administration dome & / chair house / Fine clear day / W.L. 60 ft Inst fastest / 3.20 P.M / Monday July 10th 1893 / World's Fair / (12)." |
