Description |
Original glass plate negative. Alice Austen and Augustine Minshall Hopper sit on a bench at the Glen Springs Sanitarium in Watkins, New York. Each holds a bottle and pours a drink into the other's glass. There is an oval metal platter on the bench between them; it holds a corkscrew, a plate, and other items. The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription: "Cramer / crown / 380 / A lunch at the ' San ' / Fine day, in shade / W.L. 4.20 P.M / 12 ft Inst slow / Monday Aug 1st 1892 / Watkins NY."
