Description |
Original B&W print on a gray cardboard mount. View of two Staten Island Ferry boats in New York Harbor. The boat at left has inscription "ROBERT GARRETT / Staten Island Rapid Transit" on the side of the boat; two people are visible on the deck. The boat in the distance has the name "ERASTUS WIMAN" on the side; the boat is filled with passengers. A wooden wall or pier is in the foreground. A pencil line is drawn around the photo. Handwritten inscription in pen below the photo (probably the photographer's handwriting): "285. / S.I.R.T. Ferry boats." Photographer is Isaac Almstaedt. The mount has tape binding along one edge, suggesting it may have been part of an album. (Keywords: SIRT, New York) |
