Ownership and History |
Formed in 1874, Staten Island's North Shore Fire Department (NSFD) brought together a number of existing independent volunteer fire companies. The NSFD continued in operation until being disbanded in October 1905, when New York City's paid municipal fire department came to Staten Island. Firemen who had served in the NSFD could join the Veteran Firemen's Association, which dedicated this building in 1910. |
