Description |
Label for produce can, with captions "GREEN CORN" and "J. EGBERT, / NEW DORP, S.I." The label features a chromolithograph illustration of an ear of corn surrounded by decorative strapwork designs. The edges of the illustration are printed with the inscription, "Entered according to Act of Congress, in the year 1868, by W. M. Brownson, in the Clerk's / Office of the District Court of the United States, for the Southern Distri" [the paper is torn, cutting off the inscription]. An additional inscription, possibly stamped over the printed design, identifies "R. T. B. HANCOCK, Agent."
