This is an individual item contained within archival collection MS236. This document is an affidavit of an unregistered voter in Middletown, Richmond County, Staten Island. It is printed and handwritten on off-white paper. Inscription: "Affidavit of Unregistered Voter. / County, ss. / John Lepple, being duly sworn, says that he did not appear before the Board of Registry / of Election District No. one of the town of Middletown / on the day of their last meeting for correcting the alphabetical list of voters of said district, for the reason that he did / no [sic] it and had no time / [Man?] Lepple / Geo. Bechtel / Householder / Sworn to this 4 day of November 1862, before me, / F Diederick / Inspector." A handwritten inscription on the reverse relates to the filing of the affidavit.
