Description |
Small collection of photographs and ephemera relating to horse shows on Staten Island, 1920s-1940s. Most items appear to have been removed from a scrapbook, probably gathered by the Manske family. Collection includes 11 photographic snapshots of Betty Manske and her brother Robert Manske of Staten Island riding horses, ca. 1938-1939. Ephemera includes Riding Service Information issued by the Headquarters Troop Association, Manor Farm, West New Brighton (1924); admission tickets, program booklets, and a catalog relating to the Staten Island Horse Show (1939), Annual Horse Show, James J. Tappen Post No. 125 (1939), and Clove Lake Horse Show (1938). Also includes a flyer for an event at St. Sylvester's Farm, Concord.
