This is an individual item contained within archival collection MS126.000, Butts Family Papers. Portrait photograph, cabinet card format on white mount with rounded corners and gold beveled edges. Bust portrait of Emma Butts of Mariners Harbor, Staten Island. She wears a dress with a high collar, shirred yoke, and puffed sleeves; her hair is drawn back, with curled bangs or fringe over her forehead. Printed inscription on the mount beneath the photo: "THE ROBINSON & ROE / PHOTO STUDIOS, / 152-154 W. 23d St., N. Y. / 298 Fulton Street, B'klyn." |
Biography and History |
Emma Regina Butts (1874-1966), daughter of Mary Catherine Haughwout and Alonzo Butts, lived her entire life in the Butts family home at 219 Union Avenue, Mariners Harbor, Staten Island. |
