Description |
This is an individual item contained within archival collection MS114. Printed and handwritten invoice. The invoice has an engraved illustration of a horse-drawn hearse in the upper left corner. Printed inscription surrounding the hearse illustration: "ROSEWOOD, MAHOGANY, LEAD / AND METALLIC COFFINS. / Shrouds, Collars, Scarfs & Gloves. / TERMS REASONABLE." Printed and handwritten inscription upper right: "Clifton, S.I., March 27th 1888 / M. James Mintagh / To M. HUGHES, DR. / GENERAL FURNISHING UNDERTAKER, / NO. 25 NEW YORK AVENUE, CLIFTON, STATEN ISLAND. / ORDERS RECEIVED FOR FLOWERS..." The invoice lists prices for a number of items, including two caskets, "Embalming & Keeping body," hearse, and 3 coaches. Signed at the bottom: "April 14th / 88 Received Payment / Martin Hughes." The reverse side is blank. |
