|Ownership and History||The opulence of this fan comes from the richness of the materials. It features an abundance of hand-painted violets on a silk leaf, luminous mother-of-pearl sticks, and an ornate tassel of silk with gold metallic wire. It is one of several fans in the collection from the wealthy Louis H. Meyer family of Fingerboard Road, Staten Island.|
