Program for the Richmond County Agricultural Society's First Annual Dog Show. The program has 14 pages plus front and back covers. Covers are olive green with black printed inscriptions and illustrations. Front cover has an illustration of a dog, with inscription above and below: "FIRST ANNUAL / DOG SHOW / OF THE / RICHMOND COUNTY / AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY / September 4, 5, 6, 7, 1905 / Fair Grounds, Dongan Hills, S.I. / Entries Close August 31, 1905 / President, W.S. Van Clief / Secretary, Edward P. Doyle". There are some handwritten pencil inscriptions on the front cover. The pages of the program contain the rules and prize list for the competition, and a listing of each breed of dog in the competition. Page 14 is titled "CATS" and lists breeds of cats and prizes. The back cover is an advertisement for the Excelsior Wire and Poultry Supply Co.

|Ownership and History||The dog show was evidently a new addition to the attractions for the Richmond County Fair of 1905. The fair also promised a poultry show; horse, bicycle, and motor races; U.S. Infantry drills; and other entertainments.|
