Title Abraham Lincoln 1860
Description Campaign token; round medal made of white metal with a raised profile portrait, inscribed "ABRAHAM LINCOLN / 1860". Reverse has a raised image of Lincoln splitting logs, with inscription: "PROGRESS / 1830". There is a hole through the top of the medal for attaching it. Medal is 1.5 inches in diameter.

Ownership and History Examples like this one have been identified as tokens from the 1860 presidential campaign. The image on the reverse evokes Lincoln's nickname, "the rail splitter."
