The "first annual" Richmond County Fair and Horse Show was held in 1895 at the former Staten Island Athletic Club grounds on Bement Avenue, in West New Brighton. The fair ran during the week beginning September 2, but this pass was only valid on Wednesday, September 4.
Earlier annual fairs had a strong agricultural focus, but the 1895 fair's offerings included manufacturing displays, fire engines, cycling exhibitions, and other attractions.
