Description T-shirt designed and distributed as a memorial to firefighters killed in the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001. Gray cotton with short sleeves. Printed on front with the blue emblem of Rescue 5 and the words: "Always in our Hearts / RES5CUE / BLUE THUNDER / FDNY / 9-11-01." Printed on reverse in red, white and blue: "RES5CUE / In Loving Memory of our Fallen Brothers / 9-11-01 / F.D.N.Y." inside a rectangle with an eagle's head in the center over a blue bolt of lightning and above a silhouette of the Manhattan skyline. The names of the 11 firefighters lost are printed in black around the 4 edges: "Capt. Louis Modafferi Lt. Harvey Harrell / Joe Mascali Jeff Palazzo Nick Rossomando Lt. Mike Russo / John Bergin Carl Bini Mike Fiore / Lt. Chuck Margiotta Andre Fletcher Doug Miller Allan Tarasiewicz." Printed inscription within the image: "EAGLE EMBLEMS / 718-983-5999 / & GRAPHICS." Printed cloth label inside neckline is marked with the Hanes logo and "Hanes R" [with the R in a circle, indicating a registered trademark] / "BEEFY-T R" [with the R in a circle, indicating a registered trademark] / [size] "L (14-16)"; a second label has laundry instructions and fabric content, "PRESHRUNK 99% COTTON / 1% OTHER FIBER / FABRIC MADE IN U.S.A. / ASSEMBLED IN MEXICO."

Acquisition Gift of Rescue Co. 5, in memory of eleven members of R-5 who died on 9-11
Ownership and History Rescue Company 5 of the FDNY lost 11 firefighters in the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001. Its firehouse in Concord, Staten Island became a center for expressions of grief and gratitude from Staten Island residents. Of the 343 New York City firefighters who died in the World Trade Center attacks, 78 were Staten Islanders.
