White cotton pique; double breasted; 3/4 length sleeves with cuffs; front closure with 2 rows of mother-of-pearl buttons; round neckline with attached capelet; embroidered scalloped edging along all edges; cloth label inside neckline: "Best & Co. / PARIS NEW YORK." A nearly identical coat is pictured in the 1915 Best & Co. catalog on page 10, where it is described as "Fine quality pique cape Coat, hand-embroidered scallop finishes cape and cuffs. Sizes, 6 months to 2 years." The price is $3.75.
