Object Name Doll
Date ca. 1900-1910
Description Girl doll. Bisque porcelain head with glass eyes and blonde wig. Composition body with jointed composition arms and legs. Doll wears her original clothing: blue and white striped cotton dress with petticoats and pantaloons, black socks, and brown leather shoes. Possibly made by J.D. Kestner, Germany. Overall height is 19.5 inches.
Acquisition Gift of Helen Crocheron Brown
Ownership and History This doll was the childhood toy of Helen Seguine Crocheron of Oakwood, Staten Island. Her parents were Ann Vail Seguine and Stephen Dover Crocheron. Miss Crocheron married Robert Russell Brown and they had three children. She died in August 2000 at the age of 104.
