Original color postcard. Color-printed illustration of a beach with sailboats in the water and figures walking on shore, surrounded by embossed border of seashells. Printed and embossed inscription: "Souvenir / from / STATEN ISLAND." Reverse has handwritten message addressed to "Kenneth Dudly Smith / Westerleigh / West Brighton / Staten Island." The message reads "I hope you will / soon be well / and can go and have / a fine time at / the beach / with love, / Grandma." Reverse has printed heading and markings in brown, with two postmarks on embossed area: one reads "PORT RICHMOND, N.Y. / JUN 20 / 8 PM / 190[1 or 7]"; the second reads "WEST [NEW] BRIGHTON / JUN 21 / 6-30A/ 19 07". Postage stamp has value of one cent.
