Object Name Doll
Date ca. 1875
Description Woman doll. Head and shoulders are wax over composition, with blue glass eyes and a brown wig (probably mohair or human hair). White kid body and legs, with bisque porcelain upper arms. She is wearing her original green two-piece dress with a long jacket and a skirt with a train. Under her dress she is wearing a cotton chemise, two petticoats, and drawers. Overall height is 16 inches.

Ownership and History The style of clothing on this doll dates to ca. 1875-1880. This doll's maker is unknown, but wax-over-composition dolls were produced in Germany, France, and England.
