Description Ship speed indicator face; white porcelain disc with markings in black and a circular hole at the center to accommodate a pointer. Face plate has ship speeds in Russian; marked with Lenox logo (an L inside a wreath) and with words: "LENOX / MADE IN U.S.A. / DURKEE MARINE / PRODUCTS CORPORATION / STATEN ISLAND, N.Y."

Ownership and History This item was made by Lenox for the Durkee Marine Products Corporation, which manufactured parts for American "liberty ships" that were hastily assembled during World War II.
