Date ca. 1900-1920
Description Pair of woman's shoes of white silk satin. Beaded self-fabric bow on toe. Cross strap closure with one button on the side. Slightly rounded tapered toe. Curved 2 1/8" heel. Partially lined with kid. Impressed mark on sole of each shoe: "CAMMEYER." Fabric label inside left shoe: "A.J. CAMMEYER / 6th AVE. COR. 20th ST. N.Y. / SEND FOR CATALOGUE."

Ownership and History These shoes belonged to Mignon Critten Sherley (1878-1969), mother of Olive S. Young. Mignon Critten lived on Grymes Hill, Staten Island before her marriage to U.S. Congressman Swager Sherley on April 21,1906.
