Ownership and History Demyan's Hofbrau was a well-known Staten Island restaurant located in Stapleton. This promotional keychain highlights the restaurant's role in providing catering for the production of the 1972 film "The Godfather." The restaurant was damaged by fire in 1980 and subsequently closed.

The smiley face (or happy face) motif was a ubiquitous feature of 1970s pop culture, often accompanied by the phrase "have a nice day." Originally designed to inspire cheerfulness, it has also been tied with anti-war sentiments, hippie culture, and (more recently) lighthearted text messages.
