|Description||Ship's flag. Marked with the name of "LT PHILIP PETTI," a Staten Island resident who was killed September 11, 2001. Has manufacturer's label of Northeast Flags, Mountainside, NJ. Flag is in plastic bag. Sticker on front of bag has printed inscription: "Sail for America / 14 September 2002 / This banner was carried proudly aboard retired FDNY / fireboat John J. Harvey." Sticker also has a black and white illustration of the fireboat. The flag is accompanied by a Sail for America Flag Certification.|

"Sail for America" was initiated by Catherine A. DeRubbio of Staten Island and coordinated through the New York Harbor Sailing Foundation, Inc.
This flag is a memorial to FDNY Firefighter Lieutenant Philip Petti, who was killed in the World Trade Center attacks of September 11, 2001. He was a married father of two and a resident of Midland Beach, Staten Island.
